Shade Okoya, wife of Nigerian billionaire businessman Chief Razaq Okoya, has responded to comments about her frequent appearances at social events, explaining that she attends celebrations because people also show up to celebrate her.
The businesswoman made the remark during a lighthearted interview-style promotional video with her son, Wahab Okoya, who featured his mother in a campaign for his new eyewear line.
Addressing comments about how often she steps out for social occasions, Shade said she sees no reason to apologise for celebrating others.
“People say I go out a lot. Well, people celebrate me, so I have to celebrate them too,” she said.
Her response highlights her prominent presence at high-profile social gatherings in Lagos, where she is frequently spotted at weddings, parties, launches and other celebrity events.
