Author and feminist commentator Chidera Eggerue, popularly known as Slumflower, has sparked heated conversations online after revealing why she has no interest in marriage or motherhood during a recent episode of the The Honest Bunch Podcast.

Speaking on relationships, gender roles and feminism, Slumflower argued that many women lose their identity after marriage and motherhood. According to her, society often reduces married women to domestic roles, causing them to abandon personal ambitions and dreams.

“I don’t want to be married because I’ve seen the ways that women get lost in marriage. They lose themselves. They lose their ambitions,” she said during the discussion.

The author also spoke extensively about motherhood, stressing that women sacrifice far more than men due to the physical and mental risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth. She explained that concerns about mental health, career interruption and the possibility of complications during childbirth are major reasons she does not desire motherhood.

Her comments quickly sparked mixed reactions online, with some people praising her honesty and feminist perspective, while others strongly disagreed with her views on marriage and family life. The conversation became even more intense after another participant on the podcast challenged some of her arguments during the discussion.
