For the umpteenth time, and perhaps in the hope that the message finally sticks, veteran Nollywood comic actor Hafiz Oyetoro has once again cleared the air for Nigerians who are still confused about his famous telecommunications adverts.
The actor, fondly known as Saka, recently revisited the long standing conversation about his association with two telecommunications companies that once dominated Nigerian advertising space.
Speaking on the Curiosity Made Me Ask show hosted by Isabel, on Saturday, 14th March 2026, the respected comic actor explained that contrary to what many people believe, he never had an official relationship with Etisalat.
According to him, his appearance in the memorable Etisalat advert years ago came through a modelling engagement with an agency called Century Age, which at the time handled Etisalat’s advertising account. In simple terms, the actor was hired for a job and he did the job.
The 62 year old made it clear that the only telecommunications company he ever had an official transaction with was MTN.
This explanation may sound straightforward enough. Yet the myth that the actor somehow betrayed one brand for another has continued to live a very stubborn life in public conversations.
So, after years of whispers and assumptions, the clarification stands once again.The actor did not betray any company. He simply did what actors do best.He showed up, played his role, and delivered the performance.
