Determined to return to the Nigeria football league top flight next season, the club has continued to fortify its squad ahead of the commencement of the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Last Saturday, the Makurdi soccer lords unveiled the first batch of new signings ahead of the 2026/2027 season, with a second batch scheduled for Monday, 26 October.
The club’s Principal Media Officer, Austin Tyowua, in a statement, named the newly unveiled players as Gambo Bala, a centre-back from Sokoto United; Timothy Boniface, a centre-back from ABS; Chukwudi Esobe, a central midfielder from Enyimba; Edwin Oladayo, a winger from GBS Academy; centre-forward Amos Victor from Zaki Mairiga; and Obi Samuel from Sokoto United.
Tyowua said the acquisitions are geared towards strengthening the Pride of Benue’s options across the defensive, midfield and attacking departments as the Makurdi-based side fine-tunes its squad for the new campaign.
Lobi Stars will commence their league campaign against Bichi First FC at the McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi, on 8 November 2026.
