“God Created Side Chicks to Save Marriages” — Charles Inojie Sparks Controversy

Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has sparked controversy after making a provocative claim about extramarital relationships and their place in marriage.

Speaking during a beer parlour discussion, the actor linked the rising rate of divorce to what he described as society’s departure from what he considers God’s original design for marriage.

“One of the reasons the rate of divorce is high is because we humans have left God’s original design for marriage,” Inojie said.

He went on to make a controversial argument that side relationships could help couples navigate difficult periods in their marriages.

According to the actor, God created “side chicks” because marriage was never expected to be easy and such relationships could, in his view, help prevent a marriage from collapsing.

“For instance, God knows marriage would not be easy, that’s why He created side chicks so that when things are hard at home, the man can use the side chick to save the marriage,” he said.

Inojie further described side relationships as “very important” in some marriages.
