Music executive Dapper Damm has responded to allegations made by former signees, including Shallipopi and Seyi Vibez, over contracts, royalties and financial accountability.
In a statement shared online, Dapper said he would not engage in insults or be drawn into what he described as false narratives, insisting that relevant records and documents were available to the appropriate authorities.
“I will not demean myself. I won’t stoop so low as to engage in insults. I have nothing to hide. The records exist. The authorities have them,” he said.
He accused his former signees of attempting to mislead the public through social media and urged them to move on from the dispute.
“Don’t come online and spill rubbish narratives and lies, only to mislead the public. You chose to leave. No one forced you, and we are still fine without you. Move on! Stop acting obsessed,” he added.
Dapper also addressed the beginning of his professional relationship with one of the former signees, claiming that it started in 2021 after he invested in the artiste’s first project before receiving any music from him.
“This relationship began in 2021, with me putting money down for your first project before getting any music from you,” he said.
The music executive further accused the artiste of failing to appear at their last scheduled court proceeding, while allegedly threatening to take the matter to court publicly.
“For our last scheduled appearance, you didn’t show up. I was there, but you wanna come online and say, ‘Let’s meet in court’, when you’re the one running from court,” Dapper said.
He also challenged allegations that he forged an artiste’s signature, contrasting the claim with an earlier public statement in which the artiste reportedly said he had been pressured into a deal with Dvpper Digital.
“You claim that I forged your signature, but in your public statement in 2024, you claimed that you were pushed into a deal with Dvpper Digital. Which is it?” he asked.
Dapper maintained that the artistes received financial advances and favourable percentages under their agreements, questioning what more could have been done to satisfy them.
“Everybody got healthy advances. Even giving you more percentage. What more can I do? You can never satisfy human beings in this life,” he said.
The latest statement adds to the growing dispute between Dapper and some of his former artistes, with allegations surrounding contracts, royalties and the management of their professional relationships continuing to generate reactions online.
