Nigerian billionaire businessman and founder of Jezco Oil and Jezco Group, Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, has reportedly been abducted in Anambra State.

Ezeokafor, who is also the father of Instagram personality Jowizaza, was allegedly kidnapped last week while praying alone on a mountain in Awka.

The incident was disclosed by lawyer Chukwudi Iwuchukwu in a Facebook post on Sunday. According to him, the businessman had gone to the mountain without his usual security details and police personnel who were reportedly attached to him.

Iwuchukwu alleged that unidentified gunmen abducted Ezeokafor during the prayer session and took him to an undisclosed location.

The reported incident has sparked concern in Ekwulobia, Ezeokafor’s community, where he is regarded as one of its most prominent and wealthy residents.

Iwuchukwu also claimed that the incident affected preparations for the community’s annual New Yam Festival, which was reportedly postponed despite having never been delayed in previous years.

According to the lawyer, community members considered it inappropriate to proceed with the celebration while the family of their “illustrious son” was dealing with the reported abduction.

Iwuchukwu further suggested that Ezeokafor’s decision to pray without his usual security detail may have left him vulnerable to the alleged attackers.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation on whether the businessman has been rescued or whether any arrests have been made in connection with the reported abduction.
