Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has revealed that she converted from Islam to Christianity following what she described as a miraculous recovery from a prolonged illness that kept her bedridden for nearly nine years.
Speaking about her spiritual journey, the actress said years of battling the mysterious illness and surviving several near death experiences convinced her that God had given her a second chance at life.
According to Halima, her recovery marked not only the restoration of her health but also a profound transformation in her faith, prompting her to dedicate her life to Jesus Christ.
“I’m a brand new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died. They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, big and better,” she said.
She added that she now sees her healing as a divine calling to share her testimony and preach the Christian faith.
“Right now, I’m ready to serve God because He wants me to. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people,” she stated.
Halima also disclosed that she plans to publicly share a detailed account of her experience, claiming that God used Queen Belemzy Ministries (School of Power) in her journey to recovery after years of illness.
Her announcement has drawn mixed reactions online, with many fans and colleagues congratulating her on what they described as a fresh start, while others wished her continued good health and success as she embarks on a new chapter focused on faith, healing, and restoration.
