Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia will face Heartland Queens of Owerri in the final of the 2026 Women’s President Federation Cup following hard-fought victories in their respective semi-final matches.
Nasarawa Amazons secured their place in a second consecutive final after edging Sunshine Queens 2-1 while Heartland Queens also defeated FC Robo Queens 2-1 to book a historic spot in the championship match, both on Wednesday.
The Lafia-based side had earlier eliminated defending champions Rivers Angels’ conquerors, Edo Queens, in the quarter-finals, prevailing 5-3 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Heartland Queens, on their part, advanced from the last eight by defeating Ibom Angels via a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw.
For Nasarawa Amazons, the final presents an opportunity to reclaim the trophy they last won in 2019 and make amends for 2025 defeat to Rivers Angels in the championship match.
The club is also chasing a second Federation Cup title in its history.
Heartland Queens, meanwhile, will be aiming to cap a remarkable cup run with their maiden President Federation Cup crown after overcoming FC Robo Queens in the semi-finals.
The final is expected to be a keenly contested affair, with both sides having shown resilience and determination throughout the competition.
The women’s final, alongside the men’s final, is scheduled to take place on July 11, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta.
