Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has expressed concern over the rising cost of food in Nigeria, saying the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for many households.
In a video shared on Wednesday, the actress revealed that she spent N5,000 on what she described as a small quantity of tomatoes and pepper, highlighting the growing burden of food inflation on Nigerians.
Kadiri questioned how low income earners are coping with the current economic realities, noting that many people survive on monthly salaries ranging from N25,000 to N50,000.
“The cost of feeding in this country is now very high,” she said while showing the food items she had purchased.
The actress added that if she, despite her financial position, could feel the impact of rising food prices, the situation for the average Nigerian must be even more challenging.
“If someone like me can be complaining, imagine what an average Nigerian is going through,” she stated.
