General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to issue a 90 day ultimatum to Nigeria’s security chiefs to end terrorism and insecurity across the country or step down from their positions.

Speaking in a video shared on his official social media account, the respected cleric expressed concern over the persistent wave of violence, kidnappings and terrorist attacks affecting many parts of Nigeria.

According to Adeboye, the government must adopt a more urgent and decisive approach in tackling the nation’s security crisis.

“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, ‘Move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,’” he said.

The pastor also urged authorities to go beyond targeting armed groups alone and focus on identifying and prosecuting individuals who finance and support terrorist activities.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he added.

Adeboye’s comments come amid growing public concern over insecurity in several parts of the country, including recent cases involving the abduction of schoolchildren, attacks on communities and the continued activities of armed groups.

The cleric’s remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians agreeing that stronger measures are needed to address insecurity, while others debated the feasibility of ending terrorism within a 90 day timeframe.
