Social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has once again stirred reactions following a heated Instagram Live session on 13 April 2026. In the session, he expressed strong disappointment in opposition leaders, with particular focus on Peter Obi.
According to him, the former presidential candidate gave Nigerians hope in 2023 but failed to back it up with a clear strategy for the kind of change many were expecting. He criticised what he described as a lack of direction, questioning whether there was ever a concrete plan to drive the “revolution” that supporters believed in.
VeryDarkMan also took aim at the recent “Tinubu Must Go” protest, dismissing it as ineffective and lacking real impact on the country’s current challenges.
In a moment that has since gone viral, he admitted that seeing Peter Obi now triggers frustration for him, describing him as a symbol of raised expectations that were never fulfilled.
