The Chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, Dr Eric Odo, has reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development.
Odo disclosed this while briefing the press on some of his administration’s programmes and policies on Wednesday in Ogbede, Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.
He said the programmes include payment of monthly stipends to 1,000 widows, construction of rural roads, and ongoing electrification work in Ohebe-Dim and Ozalla communities.
Odo said his administration was driven by its campaign promises made to the people of Igbo-Etiti to prioritise the welfare of youths, widows and persons with disabilities.
“I promised our people during the campaign that I will work with youths, widows and people with disabilities.
“It will be a great joy for me to see that they smile throughout my administration,” the council boss said.
While decrying the traditional governance approaches, he pledged a new era of accessibility and responsiveness in public office.
“I will not only be accessible to the people but will also address their needs. I will adopt a zero-protocol approach, serving my people through practical and tangible evidence.
“I will continue to work to ensure that our area is developed and prosperous. I am fulfilled in my promise to God and the people to serve them with dedication and commitment,” Odo said.
He commended Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu for the opportunity to serve and pledged his loyalty to the governor’s visionary leadership.
