The Owa Ajaka of Age-Mowo in Badagry, Lagos, Aholu Solomon Egbenayon, has appealed to the state government to provide essential social amenities.
He made this appeal during his 2nd Coronation Anniversary in Age-Mowo, located within the Olorunda Local Council Development Area on Saturday.
The traditional ruler stated that adequate amenities would help attract investment and stimulate much-needed development in his community.
He noted that facilities like hospitals, good roads, and schools would assure residents they are not forgotten by the government.
“We appreciate what has been done. However, we urge Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to provide more schools, teachers, and proper classroom facilities,” he said.
Egbenayon decried the poor road conditions in Age-Mowo, which he said discourage visitors and hinder business growth.
He stressed that constructing link roads would open the area to development and economic opportunities.
The traditional ruler also decried the state of the primary healthcare centre, citing a lack of staff and essential medical supplies.
He called on the government to equip the centre with nurses, doctors, and necessary drugs to serve the people better.
“On behalf of all Age-Mowo residents, I appeal to the governor to provide these vital social amenities,” he said.
He added that such amenities would greatly promote development and improve the quality of life in the area.
He reaffirmed the community’s support for the government and promised continued cooperation in future initiatives.
Egbenayon thanked his people for their support throughout his two years on the throne.
He urged all indigenes of Age-Mowo to work together in unity and love for the town’s progress.
He pledged to uphold the legacy of his forebears by maintaining peace and stability in the community.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other traditional rulers from Badagry and Lagos also attended the event.
