Why I defected by Gov Sheriff
In a major shift in the tectonic plates of national politics, Governor of oil rich Delta State, Chief Sheriff Oborewvori, today formally signalled his intention to defect from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor, through his spokesman, Festus Ahon, confirmed to KPH.ng that the decision was made after a large consultative meeting of PDP stakeholders at Government House, Asaba.
The governor’s spokesman informed this newspaper that the state was tired of being in opposition to the centre, and wants to work constructively with the Abuja to bring development to the people.
He said that the formal declaration would be on Monday at the Cenotaph in Asaba, and major players of the APC are expected to attend.
