Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has reportedly died.
Information emerging on Monday indicates that the former governor passed away following a period of ill health, although details surrounding his reported death remained sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Uduaghan, a medical doctor and prominent Delta politician, served as governor of the state from 2007 to 2015.
The latest development comes about four months after reports of his death circulated widely on social media but were subsequently dismissed by his family and officials of the Delta State Government.
At the time, his media aide, Henry Unini, confirmed that the former governor had been battling health challenges and was receiving medical attention, but insisted that he was alive and recuperating.
Uduaghan previously served as Delta State Commissioner for Health and later Secretary to the State Government before becoming governor.
