The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta has officially affirmed Governor Oborevwori as the party’s leader, warning against any attempts to challenge his position, with severe sanctions for defiant members.

This comes after Oborevwori, along with former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and their political teams, joined the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

In a statement yesterday, the Delta State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Valentine Onojeghuo, emphasized that the governor’s position as the party leader is in line with the APC’s tradition and leadership structure across the country. He said, “This position is not subject to debate or contention. It is a principle consistent with our party’s tradition and leadership structure across the federation.”

The APC warned against any challenges to Oborevwori’s leadership, stating that anyone attempting to undermine his position would create unnecessary tensions within the party. “Any such posture would amount to a deliberate act of provocation and a source of avoidable tension within our party ranks,” Onojeghuo added.

The party also made it clear that they would take strong action against any party member who tries to claim leadership in the state. “Anyone who seeks to undermine this position by continuing to parade himself as such will face severe sanctions from the party,” Onojeghuo stated.
