“If Muslims Can Use Microphones, Christians Will Preach” — Ibiyeomie Challenges Government Over Religious Restriction

Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has criticised the reported restriction on Christian preaching in public buses, warning that some Christians may “rise up and take it by force” if the policy is not stopped.

Speaking during a church service, the cleric described the restriction as a “stupid law” and questioned why Christians should be prevented from preaching publicly while other religious groups are allowed to use microphones and loudspeakers for religious activities.

Ibiyeomie argued that Christians and Muslims should enjoy equal freedom to practise and express their faith, adding that religious restrictions could create tension in the country.

The pastor also accused some Christian leaders of remaining silent because they had allegedly been compromised, while criticising the government over the country’s worsening economic hardship, insecurity and other national challenges.

He further alleged that there are attempts to turn Nigeria into an Islamic nation, insisting that such a move would never happen.
