Mrs Rachael Alamu, the principal of Ahoro Esinle School in Oyo State who was recently rescued alongside other abducted pupils and teachers, has shared details of the traumatic experience they endured while in captivity.
Speaking after her release, Mrs Alamu disclosed that there was no sexual molestation of the female victims during their time with the kidnappers.
“There was no sexual molestation of the female victims.”
She, however, revealed that the male teachers endured harsher treatment, alleging that they were blindfolded, chained and tied up by their captors.
“The male teachers had it worse than us. They were blindfolded, chained and tied.”
Recalling the early days of their captivity, the school principal said the kidnappers initially gave biscuits to the children in what appeared to be an attempt to calm them and reduce their fear.
“In the first week, they gave the children biscuits to make them feel comfortable.”
Mrs Alamu’s account offers a glimpse into the difficult conditions faced by the victims during the weeks they spent in captivity before regaining their freedom.
