“We Are Not Guilty” — Dismissed Police Officers Plead Not Guilty in Alleged Extrajudicial Killing of Delta Musician OG Million

Five dismissed police officers, including the prime suspect, former ASP **Usman Nuhu**, have pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the alleged extrajudicial killing of 28 year old Warri musician **Oghenemine Ogidi**, popularly known as **OG Million**.

The former officers were arraigned before the Delta State High Court in Asaba on Tuesday. While Usman Nuhu is facing a murder charge, the other four defendants were charged with negligent acts causing harm.

All five defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following their pleas, Justice M. Nduka adjourned the matter until **July 14, 2026**, for the commencement of trial.

Speaking after the proceedings, Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, **Ekemejero Ohwovoriole (SAN)**, who is leading the prosecution, expressed confidence in the state’s case and assured the public that justice would be pursued diligently.

“The defendants have been arraigned and have taken their pleas, as they are entitled to do. They pleaded not guilty, but our case is very straightforward. Nobody has the right to make himself the accuser, the judge and the executioner,” he said.

Describing the incident as “abhorrent,” the Attorney General stated that the prosecution was fully prepared for trial and pledged to ensure the case is handled expeditiously.

Ogidi was fatally shot on **April 26, 2026**, at Effurun Main Motor Park in Uvwie Local Government Area after he was allegedly apprehended while attempting to send a parcel said to contain a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition to a recipient in Sapele.

The shooting, which allegedly occurred while the musician’s hands were tied behind his back, was captured in a viral video that triggered widespread outrage and renewed calls for accountability over allegations of police brutality and extrajudicial killings.

The trial is expected to begin on July 14, when the prosecution will present its evidence before the court.
