Grammy winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed why she is not interested in pursuing romantic relationships with fellow Nigerian celebrities.
Speaking during an interview at the BET Awards over the weekend, the *Love Me Jeje* singer was asked whether she would make the first move if given the opportunity to date Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Responding, Tems said that although she knows who the footballer is, she does not know him personally and would not consider approaching him romantically.
“I know who Maduka Okoye is, but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here,” she said.
The Grammy winner explained that she views Nigerian entertainers and public figures more like family than potential romantic partners.
“We [Nigerian celebrities] befriend each other and we are family. I see my male colleagues as brothers,” she added.
