Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has opened up about his growing fear of marriage, revealing that the increasing number of failed relationships and marital drama now makes him hesitant about settling down.
Speaking during a recent interview with Nevon HQ, the rapper said he constantly sees couples separating barely a year after their weddings, which has changed his perspective on marriage.
According to him, the emotional stress and public drama surrounding many modern relationships have made the idea of marriage less appealing.
“These days I get scared of marriage more and more because I see people married and in less than a year they want out more, the drama and stress they go through,” he said.
Ice Prince also revealed that he dislikes the idea of putting pressure on friends and loved ones financially for wedding ceremonies.
“I am someone that my friends reach out to beg money to marry and I don’t want to be like that or disturb anybody,” he added.
The rapper further disclosed that he hopes to eventually settle down around the age of 40, explaining that some of his mentors got married later in life as well.
Aside from marriage plans, Ice Prince said he hopes to return to school and venture into farming in the future, noting that he does not see himself actively making music forever.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many social media users debating marriage expectations, financial pressure and the increasing fear of commitment among young people.
