Apostle Joshua Selman has claimed that he received a revelation concerning the imminent death of a high-ranking politician in Nigeria.
Selman made the disclosure during a church service on Sunday, September 27, 2026, where he said he had struggled with whether to make the revelation public.
According to the clergyman, he initially felt conflicted about announcing what he had seen but eventually decided to speak after what he described as a strong internal conviction.
“I’m not a prophet of doom, and I wish I didn’t have to say this, but I’m seeing a high-ranking politician in this nation. His time is up. I’m seeing him going. I’m seeing people gather to bury the person,” Selman said.
The preacher stressed that his declaration was not intended to sensationalise or celebrate the death of anyone.
He explained that the purpose of making the revelation public was to allow the family of the unnamed politician to prepare emotionally and spiritually.
“The reason why we announce this is not because we rejoice over whatever it is that is happening. It’s so that God will comfort the family, one, and then prepare the heart,” he said.
Selman went further to insist that, based on what he said he had received, there was nothing that could be done to change the outcome.
“But there’s nothing that can be done. It’s time. It’s over,” he declared.
The clergyman also addressed the possibility that his statement could be interpreted as an attempt to attract attention or gain popularity.
According to him, he does not make prophetic declarations to impress people and would rather remain silent if he did not feel compelled to speak.
“I don’t prophesy to impress. I don’t have that time for all those games,” Selman said.
He added that the revelation had been weighing heavily on him.
“The Lord has impressed on my spirit, and it will not let me rest,” he said.
Selman did not disclose the identity of the politician or provide any further details that could establish who he was referring to.
The declaration has since generated reactions online, with Nigerians debating the statement and speculating about the identity of the politician referenced by the preacher.
