The Presidency has called for legal action against social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, over the circulation of an alleged audio clip purportedly linked to President Bola Tinubu.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the call in a post on X yesterday, describing the development as an abuse of social media platforms.
According to Onanuga, the influencer should face legal consequences for allegedly disseminating false content capable of misleading the public.
The presidential aide maintained that the viral audio circulating online was fake, adding that the act amounted to a serious misuse of digital platforms.
Onanuga was reacting to a post by an X user identified as Aneex, who questioned why some Nigerians believed the voice in the recording belonged to President Tinubu.
In the now-viral clip, VeryDarkMan referenced the alleged leaked audio while urging Nigerians not to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
