Social media activist and commentator VeryDarkMan has stirred political conversations online after questioning the genuineness of former President Goodluck Jonathan emerging as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking in a video shared on Saturday, May 23, 2026, the self acclaimed president of the “Ratel Movement” said he believes the political development may benefit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu more than it benefits ordinary Nigerians.
According to VeryDarkMan, one major reason behind his suspicion is the silence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over Jonathan’s emergence.
He argued that Wike has openly opposed several major decisions within the PDP in the past and has also played influential roles in deciding governorship candidates within the party.
VeryDarkMan stated that Wike’s apparent lack of resistance or public criticism regarding Jonathan’s candidacy raises concerns and does not look like a good sign politically.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the political calculations behind the PDP’s reported decision and what it could mean for the 2027 presidential race.
