Socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has reacted following reports that he lost in the APC primaries, insisting that he never participated in the primary election process.

In a statement shared via his Instagram story, Cubana Chief Priest explained that after consultations with Hope Uzodimma and party leaders, he was informed about the party’s zoning arrangement, which favoured the incumbent candidate retaining the seat for another term.

According to him, the governor argued that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to occupy the position, especially since his “elder brother,” Asiwaju Jerry Alagboso, had previously served three terms in the House, while Oru East currently holds the governorship position through Hope Uzodimma.

Cubana Chief Priest stated that although he believed the current office holder was not meeting the expectations of the people, he respected the party’s decision and chose not to proceed with the primaries.

“Nobody will say they saw me anywhere around the primaries venue. Infact I did not participate. As I headed straight back to Lagos,” he wrote.

He further dismissed reports and online mockery surrounding the alleged loss, describing them as unnecessary propaganda by “misguided elements” trying to trend with his name.

The celebrity barman also maintained that he has no regrets about his political ambition, adding that his aspiration was driven by a genuine desire to serve and help raise political awareness within his constituency.
