Eterna Plc reported a 52.9% increase in profit before tax for the year ended December 31, 2025, supported by revenue growth and tighter cost controls, as the downstream oil firm moves to reward shareholders with a dividend payout.
The company disclosed the results in an audited statement issued on April 7, 2026, in Lagos, where Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olumide Adeosun, outlined the performance.
Profit before tax rose to N7.27 billion in 2025, up from N4.48 billion a year earlier, while revenue reached N302.37 billion. Profit after tax stood at N2.92 billion, with earnings per share of N2.24.
The board proposed a dividend of 50 kobo per share for the 2025 financial year, subject to shareholder approval at the company’s upcoming annual general meeting.
The results reflect improved operational efficiency across Eterna’s fuels, lubricants and gas segments, as well as gains from cost management initiatives, Adeosun said.
Total assets increased to N92.19 billion, driven largely by higher inventory levels, while shareholders’ funds rose to N7.77 billion, supported by retained earnings growth.
The performance comes as Nigeria’s downstream oil sector continues to adjust to deregulation and price volatility, with operators focusing on scale, supply chain optimisation and retail expansion to sustain margins.
Eterna said it plans to deepen its market position through an expanded retail footprint and broader product offerings, while maintaining a focus on operational discipline.
“The performance reflects the company’s continued focus on efficiency, cost management and strategic positioning,” Adeosun said.
