The Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA) has launched a digital application to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) improve financial management, access business opportunities and expand their operations.
In partnership with GreySoft Technologies, also known as BRIME, the platform offers bookkeeping, receipting, invoicing, market access and financial education services to help business owners track their performance and make informed decisions.
Speaking at the launch yesterday in Kaduna, KADEDA’s Managing Director, Mr Iliya Timbuark, said the partnership would strengthen small businesses through technology, data and improved business management.
He said the agency was committed to collaborations and interventions that would enhance the capacity of MSMEs to operate efficiently and achieve sustainable growth.
According to him, BRIME would provide reliable data on business performance, enabling the government to design support programmes that address enterprises’ actual needs.
Timbuark explained that the platform would help KADEDA identify businesses requiring expansion, restructuring or revitalisation, ensuring that interventions were better tailored to their needs.
He said the agency would also leverage its desk officers across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas to sensitise rural business owners about the platform and encourage participation.
The Chief Executive Officer of GreySoft Technologies, Raphael Isah, said BRIME was developed to address challenges small businesses face in maintaining proper financial records, which often limit their ability to attract investment and secure financing.
He said many business owners could not accurately determine their monthly turnover, quarterly profits or annual performance because they lacked reliable bookkeeping systems.
Isah explained that BRIME enabled users to record daily transactions, issue receipts and invoices, track expenses and monitor business performance without requiring advanced accounting skills.
He added that the platform connected businesses with relevant requests for proposals, grants and service delivery opportunities.
It also provides financial education on pricing, cash flow management, separating personal and business finances, and preparing for expansion.
Isah disclosed that the application was available through its website, app.brym.ng, as well as the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.KTH Daily News Updates continue to highlight digital innovations like these shaping the MSME space.
He said users would enjoy a free one-month trial under the partnership with KADEDA, after which the service would cost N1,500 monthly.
According to him, the company worked to reduce the subscription fee to make the platform affordable for small business owners while offering services to support enterprise development.
On data protection, Isah said business owners retained control over their financial information, adding that their records would not be shared with banks, government agencies or other institutions without their consent.
He explained that the platform featured a code-based authorisation system through which business owners could permit financial institutions and other organisations to access their business performance records when considering them for loans, grants or other support.
Isah further disclosed that GreySoft Technologies planned to engage organisations representing women and persons with disabilities to understand their needs and develop programmes tailored to their circumstances.
He added that the company was engaging development finance institutions to explore targeted support for businesses based on their performance and growth.
