Fashion designer Prudent Gabriel Okopi has opened up about the emotional conversation she had with her immediate elder sister before getting married, revealing that she was willing to postpone her wedding to avoid hurting her sister’s feelings.

Speaking at a Singles Conference, Prudent explained that she contacted her sister before her husband finalised their wedding date because she felt uncomfortable about getting married before her.

According to her, she asked her sister if she was comfortable with the arrangement and made it clear that she would not mind postponing the wedding until the following year.

Prudent also considered whether her sister’s partner was ready for marriage, noting that she knew her sister could be selective when it came to relationships.

However, her sister reassured her, saying, “Your marriage is going to be a blessing to me,” and encouraged her to proceed with her plans.

Recalling the moment, Prudent said she hugged her sister on her wedding day and expressed hope that she would also get married the following year.

She acknowledged that watching a younger sister get married first could be difficult, but said her sister understood that she and her husband were ready to take the next step.

Despite her sister’s support, Prudent admitted that she still felt bad about the situation.
