Nigerian content creator and comedian Cute Abiola has shared an emotional tribute to Aliu Musa, a young aviation enthusiast he supported on his journey from building homemade drones to becoming a commercial pilot.
In a post on Instagram, Cute Abiola reflected on how he met Musa on January 21, 2023, describing him as a young man passionate about aviation who was trying to find his way in life.
According to the entertainer, Musa had the dream of becoming a pilot but needed support and an opportunity to take the next step towards achieving his ambition.
Cute Abiola said he chose to believe in the young man and support his aviation journey, which saw him progress from making local drones by hand to pursuing formal aviation training, becoming a private pilot and eventually qualifying as a commercial pilot.
Looking back at Musa’s transformation, the comedian said he was overwhelmed with pride, particularly when he compared the young man’s old photographs with where he is today.
He described the journey as a reminder that sometimes, all a person needs to move closer to their dream is someone willing to believe in them.
Cute Abiola also revealed that becoming a pilot had been his own childhood dream, which he could not fulfil. However, helping Musa achieve the ambition has given him a different kind of fulfilment.
“I couldn’t become a pilot like I dreamed of when I was in primary school, but today, I’m grateful that I could help make someone else’s dream of becoming a pilot a reality,” he wrote.
He concluded with a reflection on how life can sometimes offer people the opportunity to help others achieve the very dreams they once held for themselves.
“Sometimes, life doesn’t give you the dream you prayed for. It gives you the opportunity to help someone else live theirs.”
