Nigerian singer Victor AD has publicly apologised to Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage over an unreleased remix of his hit song “Wetin We Gain”, acknowledging that he should have taken responsibility for the situation much earlier.

The singer expressed his regret in a public statement, thanking Tiwa Savage for contributing a verse to the remix, which was never released.

“I should have done this a long time ago, but it’s never too late to take accountability for my actions. I’m truly sorry about how things turned out,” he wrote.

Victor AD also expressed appreciation for the effort and creativity Tiwa Savage put into the collaboration, acknowledging that the song never reached the public despite her contribution.

“Thank you, Mama, for blessing my song ‘Wetin We Gain’ with a verse. Unfortunately, the remix never saw the light of day,” he said.

The singer added that although he could offer several explanations for why the project did not happen, he believed none would outweigh the effort Tiwa had invested in the song.

“I could go on and on explaining why it didn’t happen, but none of those explanations matter more than the genuine effort, love, and creativity you poured into making the song beautiful,” he added.

Tiwa Savage responded to Victor AD’s apology on X, acknowledging his message and expressing goodwill towards him.

“I appreciate this. God knows the reason for everything. All love,” she replied.

Her response brought a warm conclusion to the public exchange, as the two artistes acknowledged the unreleased collaboration and the circumstances surrounding it.

Although the remix never reached listeners, Victor AD’s apology has brought renewed attention to the proposed collaboration and Tiwa Savage’s contribution to the song.
