The management of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has publicly acknowledged singer Zlatan Ibile’s support amid the dancer’s ongoing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16, Poco Lee’s management said Zlatan, alongside others, had been supportive throughout the matter and urged the public to refrain from spreading negative narratives.
The statement read:
“We would like to publicly acknowledge that Zlatan, along with others, has been extremely supportive and helpful through this matter. Their involvement, support, and effort have been vital to moving things forward.
“We deeply value their ongoing support and dedication, and we kindly request that everyone refrain from spreading negative narratives.”
The clarification followed growing discussions on social media over Zlatan’s perceived absence from public conversations about Poco Lee’s legal situation.
The narrative was reportedly fuelled partly by a video conversation involving Poco Lee that was shared by social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
In the conversation, Poco Lee acknowledged the support of singer Burna Boy and dancer Rahman Jago during the difficult period, without mentioning Zlatan. The omission reportedly led some social media users to question whether Zlatan had supported the dancer.
Poco Lee’s management has now clarified that Zlatan was among those who had offered assistance, although it did not disclose specific details about the singer’s involvement.
The development comes as Poco Lee continues to face legal proceedings in the UK. He is facing five sexual offence charges, including one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence.
Poco Lee was granted bail on September 11, while his plea and trial preparation hearing was adjourned to February 8, 2027. His trial is scheduled to begin on March 8, 2027.
The latest statement from his management reinforces its call for caution and restraint in discussions surrounding the ongoing case, urging the public to avoid spreading negative or unverified narratives.
