The injury that forced Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu out of a Turkish Super Lig match is not serious, according to a top Trabzonspor official.
Onuachu was forced off the pitch due to an injury just before half time after he had fired two goals in a 5-0 spanking of Gencluerbirligi at the weekend.
However, Trabzonspor sporting director, Huseyin Cimsir, has told the media that the striker’s injury is not of great concern.
“I don’t think it is anything serious. There’s nothing to worry about,” he said.
This should also be cheering news to Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle ahead of 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea Bissau later this month.
The Super Eagles are already without injured Victor Osimhen for these qualifiers.
