Actress Mo Bimpe, wife of actor Lateef Adedimeji, has responded to the backlash surrounding a short video of her having a conversation with fellow actor Jide Awobona at a recent event.

The video, which captured Mo Bimpe and Awobona engaged in what appeared to be a casual conversation, drew the attention of some social media users, with some questioning the nature of their interaction.

Reacting to the reactions, Mo Bimpe expressed surprise that a brief conversation between friends had become a subject of public scrutiny.

According to the actress, the interaction was simply a normal conversation between friends and should not be interpreted as evidence of any problem in her marriage to Lateef Adedimeji.

She noted that while some people may find such interactions unusual, marriages are not all built around suspicion, insecurity or constant monitoring.

Mo Bimpe maintained that some marriages are founded on trust, friendship, respect and confidence, stressing that her relationship with her husband is based on those values.

She further suggested that the fact that some people found the interaction suspicious could be a reflection of the kind of relationships they are familiar with.

“Not every marriage is built on fear, insecurity, and constant monitoring. Some marriages are built on trust, friendship, respect, and confidence,” she said.

She added, “The fact that so many of you found that interaction strange says more about the relationships you’re used to than it does about mine.”

Mo Bimpe also described her marriage as a healthy one, while acknowledging that people who are accustomed to toxic relationships may find it difficult to relate to such dynamics.

“Not every marriage is toxic, there are still healthy marriages but I understand if you can’t relate,” she stated.

Addressing concerns about how her husband might perceive the interaction, the actress said Lateef Adedimeji is a secure man who does not feel threatened by her having a brief conversation with a family friend.

“My husband is a secure man, a brief conversation with a family friend does not threaten our marriage, or require anyone’s concern,” she added.

Mo Bimpe and Lateef Adedimeji have been married since 2021 and are among the popular couples in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
