Businesswoman and beauty entrepreneur Adeola Diadem has opened up about her decision to remain celibate and single, saying she wants a partner who is genuinely intentional about her rather than someone primarily interested in sexual intimacy.
Speaking on the *Afropolitan Podcast*, Diadem said she has become more deliberate about the kind of person she allows into her life, insisting that she wants a relationship built on friendship, meaningful conversations and mutual growth.
“I am celibate right now because I want to be with somebody that is so intentional about me. You’re not just coming at me because you want to sleep with me,” she said.
The entrepreneur explained that she has worked hard to build herself and would not accept a relationship that makes her feel less confident or diminishes the progress she has made.
“I’ve tried as much as I can to build myself to this point. You’re not gonna come to my life and then make me feel less of myself,” she stated.
According to Diadem, she expects a potential partner to contribute positively to her life just as she would contribute to his, stressing that she wants a relationship where both people support and build each other.
“If you’re not building me, you’re not pouring into me. Of course, I’ll pour into you as well, but you should be able to pour into me,” she said.
She also revealed that she prefers taking time to establish a genuine connection before becoming physically intimate, saying she expects potential partners to be comfortable with getting to know her beyond sex.
“If we cannot have a conversation with me first, and let’s just even build a relationship. Let’s build friendships. If you cannot stand that phase, then you’re not even deserving of me in the first place,” Diadem added.
The businesswoman maintained that she would rather remain single than settle for a relationship that does not contribute meaningfully to her life.
“I’d rather carry my singleness with pride,” she said.
