Haleemah, daughter of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has made an emotional public appeal for help following her father’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

Haleemah shared a tearful video on Instagram, revealing that her father is currently battling the illness and that hospitals have reportedly stopped offering him chemotherapy.

“I am asking for help for my daddy. He has cancer. It is stage 4. And it is really, really bad. The hospitals are refusing to treat him. They said they can’t give him chemo again,” she said.

Appealing to medical professionals and anyone who may have access to alternative treatment options, she said the family was not asking for financial assistance but for someone who could help her father receive treatment.

“Please give him a chance. We are not asking for money. My big uncle, Yayi, has been of great help,” she added.

Haleemah said her father remains determined to survive despite the severity of his condition.

“He has a strong will to live. His stomach is swollen. I have never seen my dad like this,” she said.

According to her, the family only became aware of the seriousness of his condition about three weeks ago, despite the actor not initially appearing visibly ill.

“If you see him, you can’t even know something is wrong. It’s just starting to show. We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago,” she said.

She appealed to anyone with knowledge of a treatment facility or medical professional who could assist to come forward.

“Please, if you know something that can treat, we are willing to try anything. My daddy doesn’t want to die,” Haleemah said.

Taiwo Hassan is a veteran Yoruba actor who has enjoyed a decades-long career in Nollywood and remains widely recognised for his work in Nigerian cinema.
