“₦150m to Campaign? Otti Is Afraid of Me” — Doris Ogala Blasts Abia Government Over Billboard Permit Fee

Actress and political commentator Doris Ogala has criticised the Abia State Government after claiming she was asked to pay ₦150 million for a state permit to run campaign advertisements.

In a strongly worded statement, Ogala described the alleged fee as an attempt to frustrate political opposition and interfere with the democratic process, insisting that the requirement was specifically targeted at her.

“This is targeted at me. Oti is afraid of me,” she alleged.

Ogala questioned how a government that promotes human capital development and an enabling business environment could demand such a huge amount for a campaign advertising permit.

She argued that the alleged ₦150 million charge would create an unfair financial barrier for ordinary citizens and political candidates seeking to participate in the electoral process.

The actress vowed not to back down, suggesting that if the fee remains in place, political candidates may be forced to campaign without billboards.

“It will not stand. Else all of us will campaign without billboard. Ndia ara,” she declared.
