Danielle Edochie, daughter of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has sparked conversation after speaking out against the growing normalisation of internet fraud among young Nigerians.
In a TikTok video, Danielle said she would never romanticise being in a relationship with someone involved in fraud, whether online or in person.
She questioned why she would want to build a relationship with someone whose lifestyle is funded by money taken from other people’s hard work.
Danielle also criticised the glamourisation of fraud on social media, noting that while some people may be impressed by the wealth and flashy lifestyles associated with “Yahoo Yahoo”, she sees nothing appealing about money obtained through theft.
Her blunt message was clear: “If you do fraud, stay away from me.”
Her comments have sparked discussions about relationships, morality and the increasing pressure among young people to associate wealth with success, regardless of how the money is made.
