Raheem Okoya, son of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya, has paid tribute to a long-serving employee who dedicated 49 years of service to the Eleganza Group as head of in-house security across several company branches.
In a video shared on Instagram, Raheem recounted the employee’s remarkable journey with the company, describing him as one of the key individuals who contributed to the growth of the Eleganza empire.
According to Raheem, the former security chief first met Razaq Okoya as a young man when the businessman was developing his factories. Over the years, he earned the trust of the company founder and eventually became head of security and gate operations at the ceramics factory.
“He first met my dad as a young man when my dad was developing his factories, and my dad trusted him so deeply that he went on to head our security and gate unit at the ceramics factory,” Raheem wrote.
The employee also revealed that he had preserved his company identification card long after retiring, a gesture that highlighted his enduring attachment to the organisation.
Raheem further shared that the man’s legacy within the company continues through his son, who was raised within the ceramics factory community and has now assumed responsibility for security operations in the same area where his father once served.
“His son, born and bred in our ceramics factory, has now come of age and taken over his father’s duties, heading in house security in that very area,” he said.
Describing the story as one of loyalty, resilience, and dedication, Raheem noted that the company remains grateful to the individuals who helped build the business over the decades.
He also disclosed that the retired employee continues to enjoy company support, including housing and other post-retirement benefits.
The heartwarming story has drawn praise on social media, with many Nigerians commending the long-standing relationship between the employee and the company, as well as the continuity of service across generations.
