The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has described insinuations that President Bola Tinubu will ensure the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victory in Ebonyi, as “false”.
Yilwatda dismissed the insinuation on Monday in Abakaliki during a grand rally organised by the APC in Ebonyi, to endorse Tinubu for second tenure in the 2007 general elections.
The national chairman was reacting to concerns raised by Gov. Francis Nwifuru that Ebonyi PDP leaders were boasting that the “Minister of the Federal Capital Territory” influenced the insinuated decision.
“President Tinubu can never allow PDP win Ebonyi as this is the greatest fabrication in history.
“No decision as such was discussed anywhere and can ever be.
“The oppostion has no place in Ebonyi and there is no vacancy for them anywhere in the state,” he said.
He urged party faithful and Ebonyi people, to stand firm with their leaders as Tinubu had impacted greatly on the state and entire South-East geo-political zone.
“You should have emotional sympathy for the president as he has saddled one of you with the responsibility of fixing the zone’s age-long problem of bad roads.
“Roads have been fixed in the zone from Aba to Port Harcourt, Enugu-Onitsha, Cross River- Enugu-Benue among others.
“No president in the history of the country has done so and I will tell him that his impact is being seen and felt in the zone,” he said.
Gov. Francis Nwifuru in his address, said the rally was to thank Tinubu for all he had done for Ebonyi and declare to the whole world that he was the people’s choice for the presidency.
Nwifuru said that Tinubu’s works in the state were practical, visible and have great impact on the people.
“We are going to allow the opposition to campaign in the state because it is their right but they will not win any seat in the state.
“Ebonyi is totally APC and the opposition would face the law if they contravene it in the course of campaign,” he said.
The Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, said the south east people would vote for Tinubu for solving their age-long marginalisation problem, elevating them to their rightful place in the process.
“The people have never had it this good since the country’s history and we would massively use our votes to show him our appreciation,” he said.
Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra among other diignataries at the rally, reaffirmed the zone’s total support for Tinubu and urged the people not to be misled.
