Nigerian music star Paul Okoye has revealed that his once rapid social media growth unexpectedly came to a halt, despite previously recording massive gains in followers.

Speaking during an interview, the singer said there was a period when his social media accounts attracted thousands of new followers daily, with some days reportedly bringing in as many as 100,000 followers.

According to Okoye, the growth was so significant that he found himself competing with some of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment figures in terms of online influence and engagement.

The singer explained that the sudden slowdown remains puzzling, noting that he cannot say with certainty what caused the change.
He, however, suggested that the shift may have coincided with the reunion of the iconic music duo P-Square, although he acknowledged that this is only speculation.

Okoye also reflected on the highly competitive nature of social media among celebrities, mentioning fellow entertainers Davido and Don Jazzy as some of the personalities whose online influence he closely observed during that period.
