Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule has opened up about one of the darkest moments of his life, revealing that he once priced his own casket during a period of deep frustration and hopelessness.
Speaking in an interview, Odule recounted how the weight of unfulfilled expectations in the movie industry pushed him to a breaking point. At the time, he said he had completely lost hope of achieving the success he desired.
According to him, fellow actor Olaiya Igwe was present during the moment, and was visibly shaken.
“I wasn’t sick,” Odule clarified. “I was just tired… I felt like I could no longer have a breakthrough.”
He explained that watching his peers succeed while he struggled added to the emotional burden, leaving him feeling stuck and discouraged.
His revelation has struck a chord with many, shedding light on the silent battles people face behind the scenes, even in industries that appear glamorous on the surface.
