The legal drama surrounding Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has now taken a political turn.

Following his remand over defamation charges, activist and AAC Party Chairman Omoyele Sowore took to Instagram to question the legality of the situation.

In his post, he argued that the grounds for Blord’s detention are unlawful, warning that the legal system should not be reduced to a tool of punishment in the hands of any individual or group.

However, his intervention did not sit well with social media commentator Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

In a strongly worded response, he accused Sowore of longstanding bias against him, suggesting that the activist has never been in his corner. He also criticised the decision to address the matter publicly rather than privately.

Taking things a step further, VeryDarkMan issued a bold warning, daring Sowore to interfere in the case and see how it would play out, implying possible legal consequences.

As the exchanges continue, the conversation has shifted beyond just one case. It now raises a broader and more uncomfortable question.

Is defamation still a crime when evidence is involved, or is the law being stretched to serve personal battles?
