Four Senators, Four Reps Members Defect to APC

Four members of the Senate have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Similarly, four members of the House of Representatives defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators include Senators Ikra Bilbis, representing Zamfara Central, Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central, Amos Yohanna, representing Adamawa North and Ipalibo Harry Banigo, representing Rivers west senatorial district.
Their defections were formally announced during Wednesday’s plenary session, where the president of the senate, Godswill Akpabio, read their notices on the floor.
The lawmakers said internal crises in their former parties prompted their defection.
Also yesterday, four members of the House of Representatives defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Inuwa Garuba (Yamaltu/Deba federal constituency of Gombe), Abdullahi El-Rasheed (Dakku/Nafada federal constituency of Gombe), and Mohammed Audu (Karim Lamido Lau/Ardo-Kola federal constituency), defected from the PDP to the APC.
The lawmaker representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari federal constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Obika Chinedu, moved from the LP to the APC.
In the same vein, Adewale Adebayo, who represents Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu federal constituency of Osun state, formally joined Accord from the PDP.
Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read the defection notices during yesterday’s plenary.
