The tragic death of social media influencer and upcoming Nollywood actress Elena Jessica has continued to stir heated conversations across social media.
Adding her voice to the already emotional debate was Nollywood actress and outspoken advocate of cosmetic enhancement, Uche Ogbodo. Having recently undergone the procedure herself, the actress felt compelled to share her perspective on the growing criticism surrounding Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, popularly known as BBL.
According to Ogbodo, the procedure, like every other medical process, carries certain hazards. She explained that people lose their lives from various medical situations, including childbirth and other surgeries. In her view, the death of Elena Jessica should not automatically be blamed on BBL itself but rather on possible complications and infections that may arise during or after such procedures.
Commenters quickly flooded her page with strong reactions. Many disagreed sharply with her stance and warned her, alongside other celebrities, to stop promoting cosmetic surgeries that young women may feel pressured to pursue.
Reports indicate that Elena Jessica passed away on Monday, 9 March 2026, at the Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital following complications linked to a corrective procedure after her initial BBL surgery.
