What many believed was the end of a messy dispute has now taken a fresh turn. On Sunday, 1 March 2026, Chris Okafor of Liberation Ministry addressed his congregation during a sermon and publicly withdrew every apology he had previously issued to any woman. His statement was widely interpreted as a direct reference to his past public apology amid his dispute with Doris Ogala.
The pastor reminded his audience of the apology he made on 28 December 2025, explaining that he had been under intense pressure at the time. According to him, individuals he considered friends had pushed him to take that step. He added that one of the key reasons he apologised was because respected fathers of faith, including David Abioye and Matthew Ashimolowo, were being mentioned in the controversy.
In his words, “Sometimes you lose a fight to win a war. I cannot apologise for what I did not do and who I have never met.”
The declaration was met with loud cheers from the congregation, as he firmly stated that every apology made that day to “that lady” was officially withdrawn.
What was once seen as a peaceful resolution is now being questioned, as the renewed stance threatens to reopen a feud many assumed had been laid to rest.
