Sadiq Ajibola emerged victorious at the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Captain’s Day tournament, posting 82 Gross and 69 Net to narrowly beat Daniel Ojuma in a competitive showdown. The one-day event marked the farewell of outgoing Captain Seyi Alaba, celebrating his contributions to the club’s growth and facilities.
Ajibola credited focus and consistency for his win. “It was a competitive round, and I stayed focused throughout. I dedicate this victory to hard work and the support of my fellow members,” he said.
Ade Sunmonu captured the Men’s Gross prize, while Sade Ajala won the Ladies’ Net title with 86 Gross and 72 Net.
The tournament, themed “Alabama Bows Out,” highlighted Alaba’s leadership in improving the course, clubhouse amenities, and member engagement. Ajibola’s win adds a memorable chapter to the tradition, showcasing both the talent and spirit of IGC golfers as the club looks ahead to its next chapter.
