It was a night filled with anticipation, particularly for Nigerians, as the 2026 Grammy Awards took place on 1 February 2026.
With four Nigerian artistes nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, expectations were understandably high. Many had placed their hopes on Davido, believing that if he did not win, at least one Nigerian act would.
