“Asake Has Blocked Me” — Lege Miami Cries Out Over Father-Son Feud

Just when the dust from last year’s very public outcry by Asake’s father seemed to be settling, another voice has entered the conversation, this time, from the ever-vocal Lege Miami.

In a video that opened with the dramatic declaration, “Asake has blocked me o!”, the online matchmaker announced what many of his followers found unsurprising. According to Lege Miami, the Afrobeats star cut off communication with him after he attempted to intervene in the long-running father-and-son saga.

Lege explained that his offence was stepping in as an unsolicited intermediary, urging Asake to reconcile with and take care of his father. A move that, in his opinion, came from good intentions, though Asake clearly did not agree.

Now blocked and baffled, Lege Miami has turned his frustration toward Asake’s father, blaming him for the fallout and publicly appealing to the singer to reconsider and unblock him, because, apparently, in the age of social media, family matters are no longer complete without a third party and a camera phone.

Whether this plea will soften Asake’s stance remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: in Nigeria’s entertainment space, even private family issues have a way of becoming public series; complete with episodes, commentators, and unexpected guest appearances.
