Delta Groups Unite To Drive Development In Ndokwa East

In a bid to ensure unity and progress, the Ndosimili Development Union (NDU) and Ndosimili Development Association (NDA) have merged to become Ndosimili Development Union (NDU).
A statement jointly signed by Dr Titus Obiorah Chairman NDA, and Dr Sunday Chukwudi, President, NDU, made available to newsmen on Sunday in Asaba,said the merger was announced after extensive consultations with stakeholders.
According to the statement, the merger marks a new era of collaboration aimed at promoting social, economic, and political advancement in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta.
The leaders of both organisations explained that the merger was driven by the collective desire of the Ndoshimili people for a unified structure to coordinate development initiatives and community advocacy.
“Our people have yearned for one united socio-cultural apex body.
“This merger allows us to harmonise our efforts, eliminate duplication, and speak with one voice in pursuit of Ndosimili’s development goals,
“The NDU, a long-standing body advocating cultural preservation and development, and the NDA, formed more recently to bridge coordination gaps, have now formed a single, cohesive organisation that reflects the shared vision of the Ndosimili people,
“A new leadership council has been constituted to lead the reinvigorated NDU.’’
According to the statement, members have been drawn from both legacy bodies which includes prominent professionals and community leaders.
The new NDU leadership council has Mr Ike Onyenokwe as President-General, Mr Chris Uzoalu Vice President, Dr Oke Aziakpono Secretary-General, and Prof. Adaobi Ugbomeh Treasurer.
The council also has Mrs Gloria Chukwujekwe as Financial Secretary, Mr. Austin Anochie Assistant Secretary, Chief Sony Neme Public Relations Officer, Mr Malachy Ugwummadu Legal Adviser and Mr Robert Anyibama Legal Adviser.”
The council pledged to uphold transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability while working to strengthen unity and attract meaningful development projects to Ndokwa East.
It extended an open call to traditional rulers, presidents-general of communities, political leaders, youth and women organisations, and non-governmental partners to rally behind the newly unified body.
“This merger is not just symbolic; it is strategic. Together, we can transform our communities and create opportunities for future generations.’’
The Ndosimili Development Union serves as the socio-cultural and developmental voice of Ndokwa East.
The Union is committed to promoting unity, cultural heritage, economic growth, and good governance through strategic partnerships and community engagement.
